  • The 8 most beautiful villages in France in the Lot:

Eight of the most beautiful villages in France await your visit in the Lot, namely:

  • The Padirac Chasm:

The Gouffre de Padirac is the first underground natural heritage site in France. Although it is closed to visits during the winter period, its appeal is such that it is imperative to book your visit , via the website, in high season.

The constant temperature of 13°C which reigns there makes it a must-see tourist destination in the summer.

  • The Cave of Pech Merle:

Preserved for millennia, the Grotte du Pech Merle , an authentic masterpiece of prehistoric art, presents one of the most beautiful artistic expressions of humanity.

Its visit, like the Gouffre de Padirac, requires prior reservation via the website.

The constant temperature of 12°C in the cave requires you to wear warm clothing in summer.

  • The Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park - Unesco Global Geopark:

Les Enclos Secrets are located in the town of Livernon, itself located on the Causse de Gramat in which the Gouffre de Padirac was formed.

The Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park created in 1999 is mainly based on the territory of the Causses du Quercy since it encompasses from north to south the causses of Gramat , Saint-Chels , Limogne , but also includes part of Quercy white to the south and bites to the east on the heights of Limargue .

The territory is cut by several valleys including those of the Dordogne , Célé and Lot .

It has also been labeled a Global Geopark by UNESCO since 2017. The basis of this labeling lies, in particular, in the exceptional value represented by the phosphate mines (mines for extracting phosphate used as agricultural fertilizer). The Causses du Quercy have 300, including the Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural , a visit to which represents a great tourist attraction.
